Post Seiko 6309-7040 Soxa mod
Good day gentlemen
Just want to share my latest build with you all, a simple Soxa mod i built some months ago after being collecting parts for some time. Turned out rather nice.

Parts used:
* Seiko 6309-7040 from 1976
* Dial from 10watches.com
* Hands from yobokies
* Bracelet from yobokies
* Brand new SBBN017 bezel

Do only have 1 picture of this one, camera didn't want to take any more pics due to some memory fault?! More will follow when I have solved the memory problem.

Looks great! Good choice on the chapter ring and bracelet :clap:
The endlinks are always tough to find for that case, but you nailed it perfectly.

Many thanks for your kind replies. Have done some other Soxa variants in the past but this is the best by far since I did use the seiko original bezel and alos the very nice bracelet.

Unfortunately the bezel has no click function at all (was no ball left) but the friction from the rubber gasket inside creates a very nice vintage style turn function - think about older divers that dosnt have any click function but only a retention ring that creates friction and you have the feel that I now have with this build.

Only thing that I don't like is the chapter ring, the color tinting doesnt match up with the rest of the watch and might be changing this one later on

I would love to get a black Soxa dial like that. They seem to be out of stock now.

Looks great brother.

Thanks for all positive feedback gents

The bracelet is very nice for the cost (100usd or something), did have a Doxa Sharkhunter 600T in the past and when comparing this Yobokies bracelet with the Doxa one they are very close in quality and "feel" so well worth the money in my opinion.

Hello Robban, if you are interested in replacing the click ball, it is very easy.
The tip of most ball point pens are the same size that Seiko uses for the click ball on their divers watches. To remove them from a pen, just use a pair of pliers that have wire cutters. Place the cutting section of the blades next to where the ball is, and squeeze. Don't squeeze the ball. You'll crush it. Just squeeze next to it. The ball will pop out of the tip. It's best to cover The pliers and pen tip with a paper towel, in case the ball shoots out, it won't go flying across the room. There is also a little spring that sits in the hole just below the ball. The spring gives upward pressure to push the ball into the detente on the underside of the bezel. When one turns the bezel, the ball lowers to the next detente, the pops back up, when positioned in the next detente, and clicks. The springs don't usually fall out, because there is usually enough dirt in the hole from years of wearing, that they are held in place. You'll know if the spring is not there if you push down on the ball, and it does not spring back up. If the spring is missing, the springs inside a watch strap pin is the same size. Just break a spring bar open, take the spring out, and find one that fits closest to the diameter of the hole where that click ball goes. Hope this helps anyone that is missing their click ball, or spring.
