Yeah, might be, sloppy paint job. Anyway, none of all this makes the 6154/6152 dial in the 3646 case any less of a 6154/6152 dial in a 3646 case ;)

I think it's a 3 piece dial. There are much more Rads like this one. Amazing one...

6152 (no cg) and 6154 have completely different dials (Construction/thickness etc.) Which are you saying it belongs to?

I am not sure, and I don't have time to research. Most importantly, it doesn't look like a three piece dial. The only 3646 I've seen with a similar dial is the 1st one listed in V&E's The References (with inscription on bezel), which has since been proven to have a 6154 dial. The point is, to me this looks like a 1950s dial.

Just compare the dial on this 6152 from 1953/1954 ...

... with said 3646 from approx. 1940-43:

Anyway, just my two cents, not gonna dwell further into this.

The 6152 pictured has a three piece dial though? I agree that the Lume doesn't look original but then the hands look like they've been changed too so it's obviously had some work done.

Saab, do you see the lume colour here? This what I like to see in a 40's Radiomir 3646 dial with many many cracks. The dial in question is plain yellow, without any discolouration.

Yes I agree, I think all original RP dials have that colour Lume due to aged radium.
I originally only questioned why people thought that the dial in question was wrong.
I'm not sure it's the wrong dial, but re-lumed or something?

That picture was also posted to show that original RP dials don't have 'open' 6's.

Here is a other one. You can see easy that it is a 3 piece dial.
Btw. same combo with hands here.

This is btw from the same auction house that sold the one that got all the media attention, so my guess is someone realised they were sitting on a Kampf and decided to cash in after reading stories like this one: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... after.html

mmmmm rusted

Its serial number overlaps with the ones of the type E (but the caseback engravings are like the typical type F ones)
