I definitely agree; less is more! Especially when taking into consideration the cost and effort required to keep a large collection of watches regularly maintained and serviced!

Trying to keep a collection small seems to be a difficult thing, however.... In this hobby, it's easy to get carried away! I at one time had my collection down to 5 pieces, reduced from 14. I think I'm back up to 9 again...

5 seems like a good number for me. ))

Good point on the upkeep.

you say this all the time.

last time you did a reboot was the same.

eventually you're drawn back in to do a few builds here and there and grow the box again.

Dude! I know. I currently have 4 tudor subs in the works. :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

Consolidate. Evaluate. Liquidate.

I am getting there though. Currently 8 in the watch box. 3 in the works.

Slowly but surely. ))

The bottom right tiny tim is a cheapy i will never sell, the benrus is a quarz beater up wsterproof sports watch (my g-shock) and the tudor 9411 is probably on the block. So, we wont count those in the collection.....and down to 5/6!....sort of ;)

Well, this is harder than I thought. I have sold a bunch...at least it feels like that, but when I look at the previous fotos it doesn't really seem like anything has changed much

Than again, Only the top 4 are the keepers: PAM PVD000, '69 Heuer Biundeswehr, Tudor Blackbay, and a Smith's RAF W10

The bottom row is the in the air row: Benrus Diver (I use this on Vacations/Diving etc;), Waltham 1914 officers watch (cheapy, but I love it...even though I never wear it), on the block Mega Franken Tudor 9411, and a Record 1945 RAF dirty dozen WWW.

So, technically down to 4/5. Oh, and a Grail build that needs to be finished and my Laco B-Uhr which is all packed and ready to be sold...but those don't really count.

minimalism....

it's really easy to spin out of control on parts and watches: the more one has the less one appreciates etc.

a while ago i made a 3 watch rule... but that didnt include watches or active projects!

imo eventually builds escalate, get more elaborate/ expensive, take longer and the collection whittles down naturally

currently down to 2.

however, getting the itch again....
