I have enough to put into builds, I think I will keep this one as a pocket watch...

Hey Buddha, who actually made these movements? I've seen them with many different names on them but don't know who the actual manufacturer was.

According to my research they are AS 1054 (smaller ones) or AS 1076 (larger ones), so the maker is ubiquitous A.Schild...

Thay is correct! And small and large refer to the thickness not the diameter.

Hmm. If they're A. Schild movements there might even be staffs and mainsprings still available. Thanks for the answer guys!

I haven't checked for mainsprings but I probably need a few. Please let know what you are able to find out.

Will do Buddha. I'll almost bet that they're a standard size. A. Schild stuff usually is.

Nice!

That's the version without a stem correct? Sorta like a key wind?

Yes, it's called negative setting. The stem is part of the case and there is a square hole in the movement that it goes into. I haven't tried it in a case yet but I think this movement is actually an American 16 size. Not that I'd take it out of the case that it's in anyway but it would be interesting to know.

it's larger than the 666 that could be used in a pam case, the screws near the winding gears are in a different place and the bridge fingers are a different shape slightly. It is a stunning pocket watch though

Well I wasn't planning to try and build a wristwatch with it...it's a pocket watch. And it will remain that way. I only make builds from orphan movements anyway, or movements that their cases are so bad that they're worthless. Pocket watches were my first horological love and I still collect FAR too many of them....lol.

Post Re: Post Pictures of Your Pocket Watches
well, the OP did ask, this is the result of a 2 week spending spree by a Newbie.
I seem to have caught some sort of bug , just over a year ago I was well into rep watches of all sorts ,then I bought by chance one of Martin's builds (Irate03) needless to say something happened because I have sold off most of my other watches ,and bought another lovely build from Martin.
recently I decided I wanted to make one of my own, and set about my "cunning plan". anyway ,thinking that a build with a "Cort" at its heart was beyond me I set about buying a couple of Molnija's , starting with 4 3602's except one turned out to be a 3608 ,stripped of its transfer gear mechanism. then I saw an early "Molly" , quality well above the later ones with bevelled edges to the bridges , recessed screws on the gears, and nice decoration , and bought another 5 of those (1951-55) halfway through this "binge" my father in-law spotted a Cortebert 616 in his local flea market, and after some discussion he bought it for me at a spiffingly good price , not enough I bought another of the same watch (Speciale) online . and yesterday bought a Hamilton 917 from the good old USA. (err... not pictured )
so that's my tale of woe, and having just received all the necessary stuff to create a 3646 from Gordon, I get the feeling that things could get tricky in the coming weeks / months.
