Fellow enthusiasts

tr0y and i plan to produce a rolex bridge kit for cortebert 616 movements. What we all have been dreaming of will soon become reality.

I will send my elinvar 622 bridges to germany for a high precision 3d scan (+/- 0,0001mm). 620/622 and 616/618 share the same basic layout. The difference is in the height of the base plate and the bridges. Adding the corresponding height to the elinvar 622 drawings will do the magic.

Image

In order to keep it as simple as possible and offer a plug & play kit we'll produce the simple escapement bridge, without the polished cap plate and cap stone. This kind of bridge was also used in type 2 and 3 movements.

Image

The idea is to use the existing bearings and jewels of your 616 and transfer them to the new bridges. If you're unfamiliar with this kind of work tr0y can do it for you, at an extra cost of course. every watch smith can do the transfer within 1 hour.

The bridges will be made of brass. they will be rhodanized and finished with côtes de genève. the kit will also include a sterile ratchet wheel and a cover for the cortebert escapement bridge holes as per gen.

A kit will consist of

1 x Barrel bridge
1 x Train brdige
1 x Escapement bridge
1 x Cover (Cortebert holes)
1 x Ratchet wheel

Types

Type 1 bridges will have 7 stripes of côtes de genève as per gen. Type 2,3 and 4 will have 5 stripes as per gen.

As for the engravings it's up to you which type you wanna order. possible are all 4 types.

Type 1: 2533, 3646, 6154
Image

Type 1 mod: 3646 (Type E, F, G), 6154 (+/- Balance cock)
Image

Type 2: 6152, 6154
Image

Type 3: 6152-1
Image

Type 4: 6152-1
Image

type 1 kits will include a ratchet wheel with the fine sunburst finish (swirl) as per gen.

Image

type 2, 3 and 4 kits will come with the rough sunburst finished ratchet wheel, as per gen.

Image

Procedure

- 3D scanning of elinvar and 616
- CNC bridges of brass
- Engravings
- Rhodanizing
- Côtes de Genève
- Cover for Cortebert holes
- Ratchet wheel

Time frame

This is a pretty ambitious project and the timeline is uncertain. We cannot tell at the moment when the parts will be ready to ship. We'll make sure to finish it as soon as possible. However, we are talking about 2 to 3 months.

Price

The price for a kit will be around 750 usd.

In order to cover the set up (3d scans, prototypes, etc.) of this project we'll ask for a deposit of 100 usd.
