Post Tudor Troubles
In 2015 I bought a red bezeled Tudor Black Bay on eBay, the first thing I did was sit it next to my PT Black Bay Rep and could see quite a few differences. What I didn't know until last week is I was comparing a rep to a super rep!

I sent the eBay Black Bay to Rolex Service in TX to be serviced a couple weeks ago, mainly to replace the pearl which I somehow knocked out of the bezel. It passed first round of inspection at Rolex and they sent an official quote with price for service. A week later I get a call from Rolex that "the entire watch is not of Tudor manufacture."

The watch came from a high end Pawn shop in MI, with good reviews on all sources (Google, Yelp, eBay, etc.) that brought the watch to a registered Rolex dealer in Grosse Pointe for inspection prior to sale. I brought the watch to Tourneau to get some help with the bracelet when a screw froze, in neither case did anyone identify that the watch was a rep. I was unaware that there were Tudor reps this good, or has Rolex messed up?

I'd post picks but still waiting for the watch to return from Rolex.

I doubt that anybody is going to refund anything after two years. This is the dark side of our hobby, fakes so good that even the "experts" can be fooled being passed off as the real thing. I hope that it's just a mistake and the Tudor is real. What "parts" did they say weren't genuine?

Post Re: Tudor Troubles
I asked hoping it was a part or two that could be replaced, Rolex said the whole thing. I contacted the seller and have copies of all the transaction emails from eBay to prove the purchase so I'm fairly certain I can make a good case for refund. Luckily it was a US purchase from a brick and motar that have been cultivating their online presence so threats of reviews and reports to BBB and the local AG Consumer Protection office should be influential. They can make claims that the watch was swapped but with the serial numbers it would be hard to do so. I also bought it with a small dent on the bezel insert so that is essentially a visible fingerprint proving the same watch.

All in all I'm confident it will work out, but we'll see.

Well I certainly hope it will work out for you. I'd be beyond reasoning with if that had happened to me. As in "throw a brick through their window" kind of beyond reason.

Hello
I'm sorry for this situation and hope everything works out well for you.
Could you tell us if Rolex mention any details why the watch is fake?
Regards
Dan

Rolex will only say "we are not in the business of verifying watches, but your entire watch is fake." :wtf:

Does anyone even know of who makes a Black Bay super rep? I followed the PT design R&D on RepGeek until it was released and it looked nothing like the one I bought on eBay.

There are quite a few lovely black bay reps out now in various versions.

So sorry to hear you ran into one unexpectedly.

Filed complaints with Better Business Bureau and the Michigan State Department of Consumer Affairs, PayPal allows you to submit a problem report on a purchase two years ago and immediately sends you a response that they can't do anything about a purchase over 180 days.

So far BBB is pursuing it, negative reviews on all social media and review sites seems to have done little to motivate them. They've gone silent neither responding to my reviews nor contacting me directly, the only communication was submitted to BBB asking for more time to review.

I would imagine that eBay would not be of much help either.
